Plant Operator Job in Oil and Gas

This position is liable for the operation of compressors, motors, cooling equipment, pumps, valves, pipelines and other related gas processing equipment. This position ensures the value effective and efficient operation of gas processing and treating units and associated equipment within gas and liquid facilities and pipelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, a private must be ready to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:
Operate, inspect, and maintain equipment and systems at plant facilities which incorporates , but isn’t limited to: cryogenic plants, hydrocarbon fractionation units, process controls and measurement, LNG facilities, engines and compressors, pumps, pump stations, pressure relief systems, instrument air systems, dehydrators, fuel systems, treating, emergency shutdown systems, reciprocating compressors, gas fired heaters, process pumps, amine treating systems, inlet gas receivers and NGL storage and transfer facilities during a reliable and efficient manner while in compliance with the Partnership’s procedures and regulatory requirements.

Seek to optimize processing through facility by maintaining proper product specifications
Respond to alarms and problems within the plant and takes corrective measures
Monitor and control pressures,

temperatures, flow rates, and levels to efficiently achieve desired operating results and ensure proper operation of kit under current process conditions like Start/Stop/Rate adjustment of kit.

Demonstrated understanding within the maintenance and compliance of plant operations in alignment with partnership and environmental standards (PSM-SPCC-TNRCC) including the creation and maintenance of required reporting and readings
Maintain and cling to required trainings, policies, and procedures
Where applicable, the chosen candidate are going to be required to pass all PSM-required operator certifications
Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives
Communicate with partnership control centers, business groups, and other operating groups as necessary
Oversee the development and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties
May perform lab tests for quality assurance, diagnose mechanical problems. Complete minor repairs as required , assist other technical staff and the other tasks as assigned or required
May monitor field compressor status through the utilization of SCADA
Comply with partnership safety policies and procedures
Perform energy isolation lockout/tagout procedures (LOTO)

Required Education:

High school diploma or GED

Required experience is commensurate with the chosen job level:
Level C requires a minimum of 0 – 2 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience as well as Level B requires a minimum of two – 4 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience.
Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant as well as industry experience or equivalent work experience.

Required Qualifications:

Must maintain valid driver’s license as well as in state of residency
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the power to figure effectively during a group environment
Demonstrated self- starter with the power to figure as well as independently and exercise good judgement
Ability to figure during a 24/7 operational environment, shift rotations, and perform call outs
Must be ready to react to high stress/emergency situations during a deliberate, thoughtful, and timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

Mechanical aptitude with ability to find out and perform operation as well as maintenance tasks related to various sorts of facilities and equipment
Proficiency with computers including MS Office applications like Excel and Outlook also as other computer based work training, time reporting, expense reporting, and on-line work applications and documentation.
